Epic lift lines? New Vail app tracks wait time

Hate the lift-line wait at Vail Resorts’ mountains?

A new element of Vail Resorts’ EpicMix app will allow Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone skiers and boarders to see lift-line waits in real time.

The new technology — called EpicMix Time — will calculate and display up-to-the minute waits at 55 core lifts and gondolas, the company said in a news release. It’s available for Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone this season and will be deployed at the Broomfield-based resort giant’s five other destination ski areas in Utah and Lake Tahoe, Calif., during the 2016-17 season.

The technology also is being tested at Vail’s Perisher Resort in Australia.
