En garde, Roger!

Dear Editor:I’ve challenged Roger Marolt to explain and defend his position on illegal (Mexican) immigration and he’s evidently accepted. I’m both astonished and delighted about this.Roger seems quite confident that he’ll dispose of me quite handily, him being an award-winning letter writer and all. But I hereby remind him of the adage, “Fools rush in where angels fear to tread.” This will most likely apply to one of us by the time it’s over.To get the ball rolling, Roger needs to define his position on illegal immigration, hopefully in 200 words or less. I will then reply with a few comments on his position and reveal my own viewpoint on this hot potato subject. At this point I expect him to try and dissect my position and reaffirm his own. By that time we should be well into the heart of the matter and it should be apparent whether or not Roger Marolt belongs on the same page as Pete Luhn. This should be an interesting go-’round, provided Roger can stick to the central points of the issue. Meantime, en garde! Roger and devil tame the hindmost.Pete LuhnAspen
