Empty Bowls full of success

Dear Editor: Having just attended this year’s Empty Bowls Dinner at Bumps restaurant, I just have to say, wow, what an incredible event! Art teachers from Aspen Community School, Aspen Country Day School and the Aspen School District worked tirelessly for months to make this incredibly successful community gathering possible by having students make ceramic soup bowls and publicizing the event. Bumps was packed with local families and supportive community members who wanted to help raise money for LIFT-UP. Without the help from the many volunteers (which included school board members and school administrators who were serving up the soup and busing tables) and the wonderful soups, breads and desserts donated by local restaurants and bakeries, this event would not have been nearly as successful.Of course special recognition should also go out to Henrietta and her crew for allowing the dinner to be held at Bumps. You all did a fantastic job of bringing the community together for a great cause, and I can’t wait until next year! Georgina LeveySnowmass Village
