Aspen, CO ColoradoEmma Josephine Monte passed away on Friday, Aug. 10. She was 100 years old.Emma was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on June 17, 1907, the daughter of Italian immigrants. She had eight brothers. She has been living at Castle Creek Assisted Living for eight years. She amused her fellow residents with her cartoon drawings of “Canine Capers.” Emma was loved by all, and she will be dearly missed. Everyone needs a little “Emma” in their life!Emma is survived by her son John Monte and her daughter Janet Lapin; two grandsons, Anthony and John Michael; and one great-grandson, Anthony John.There will be a funderal Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church in Aspen at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15. Emma will then be laid into eternal rest at St. Charles Cemetery in New York.The family asks that donations be sent to St. Mary Catholic Church in Aspen.
