Emergency repairs on Castle Creek Bridge will affect Aspen commuters on Thursday

Emergency repairs on the Castle Creek Bridge will affect traffic Thursday, the Colorado Department of Transportation said Monday.

Emergency joint repair work will be performed on the eastbound lane of the bridge on Highway 82, CDOT said. The work is weather dependent and will be performed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. If the work isn’t finished Thursday, repairs will commence Friday.

“Commercial truck traffic and RFTA buses will still use the bridge and will be guided through the project by traffic control,” CDOT said in a statement. “All other vehicular traffic will use the alternate route in place — Colorado 82 westbound traffic will exit at North Sixth Street to West Smuggler Street, heading west to Power Plant Route to Cemetery Lane and back to Colorado Highway 82.”
