Embrace Habitat for Humanity
Dear Editor:We all know that the Roaring Fork Valley is experiencing a period of increasingly heated growth and development. As residents of Basalt, we are concerned about maintaining a balance of housing conditions that do not price out important contributing members of our community. One attractive solution exists when approved development projects include Habitat for Humanity as their affordable housing partner. Important decisions are now being made that will greatly affect the character of our beloved towns and valley for years to come. We implore the decision-makers in government and development to embrace this as one mechanism to preserve the diversity and vibrancy we have come to appreciate.Liz Gremillion Freeman and Doug FreemanBasalt
