El Jebel man charged in alleged taxicab robbery

ASPEN ” A 26-year-old man was charged Wednesday with aggravated robbery in connection with the alleged hold-up of an Aspen taxicab driver in the Truscott Place parking lot, according to court documents.

Justin Nathaniel Brink of El Jebel faces up to 24 years in prison if convicted of the felony offense that allegedly took place Feb. 21. He is being held on $50,000 bond in the Garfield County jail on an unrelated case.

He is to appear Monday in Pitkin County Court in Aspen for a hearing. Brink was arrested March 19 on a warrant issued out of Pitkin County. He was in the Garfield County jail at the time the warrant was served.

Around 12:19 a.m. on Feb. 21 he allegedly got into the back seat of a High Mountain Taxi cab, pulled a knife on the driver and demanded money. Brink took the money and the keys from the vehicle then ran off toward the Truscott Place apartments, police said.
