Eastbound I-70 to close in Glenwood Canyon

Aspen Times Staff Report
Aspen, CO Colorado

GLENWOOD SPRINGS – Both lanes of eastbound Interstate 70 in Glenwood Canyon will be closed Tuesday night while the Colorado Department of Transportation installs a new message sign.

The work will actually occur in the wee hours of Wednesday – from midnight to 1:30 a.m. and again between 2 and 3:30 a.m., according to CDOT. The new variable-message sign will be placed just west of the Hanging Lake Tunnel in the canyon.

The traffic stops are necessary in order to set the sign over the lanes of travel, adjust it and allow concrete to cure, CDOT said.
