Eastbound I-70 closed in DeBeque Canyon
Aspen, CO Colorado
DeBEQUE, Colo. – An accident involving a semi truck hauling glass has resulted in the closure of eastbound Interstate 70 in Debeque Canyon, east of Grand Junction, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
One lane of westbound I-70 is also closed.
The accident occurred just after 2 p.m. and the cleanup may take five hours, CDOT said.
Eastbound traffic is being rerouted onto Highway 65, north on Mesa County Road 45.5 and back onto I70 at DeBeque. No wide loads are permitted on the detour route, according to CDOT.
