VAIL, Colo. ” An Eagle company was cited Friday by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for a July incident in which a crane fell over onto a busy Vail road.

All of the outriggers were not fully extended as is recommended in the crane’s manual, the agency said in issuing the citation to HI Cranes Inc. of Eagle. That led to the crane tipping over, which exposed the operator to hazards, the agency said.

The proposed penalty for the violation is $1,500.

The crane, at a construction site at the Vail Spa Condominiums on West Lionshead Circle, fell onto the South Frontage Road on July 23. No one was injured, and there was no property damage.
