Eagle County to lift fire ban

Aspen Times Staff Report
Aspen, CO Colorado

EAGLE COUNTY ” The fire ban on private lands in Eagle County will be lifted at 12.01 a.m. on Friday, the sheriff’s office announced.

Fire restrictions have been in place since July 18 due to dry conditions and high fire danger. Recent rain and cooler temperatures have lowered the fire danger significantly, the sheriff’s office said. Eagle County Sheriff Joseph Hoy made his decision in conjunction with the fire chiefs in the county.

Fire bans remain in place on private lands in Garfield and Pitkin counties. The ban was never enacted on White River National Forest lands.
