Eagle County sheriff wants bullet-deflecting blanket

EAGLE COUNTY ” The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office is applying for a grant to purchase a $31,000 bullet-deflecting shield, called a tactical blanket, and wants some public input on its application.

The grant is part of the economic stimulus money being dished out by the U.S. Department of Justice.

The blanket can protect several officers at once. The sheriff’s department doesn’t have anything like it, officials said.
