Aspen, CO Colorado
EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. ” Eagle County commissioners won’t decide whether to spend $5.7 million to preserve the Colorado River Ranch until the end of June.
The county open space board recommended last week the money be used to put a conservation easement on the 1,017-acre piece of property located 12 miles north of Dotsero.
The Eagle Valley Land Trust and the owners of the ranch put the deal together and requested $5.7 million of county open space money. The total cost of the easement is $7.9 million.
The commissioners will make the final decision on whether to use the money. Officials are hoping to get the item on the board’s June 23 agenda.
