Drunk man allegedly steals motorcycle

Aspen Times Staff Report
Aspen, CO Colorado

ASPEN ” Neil Littlejohn, of Colorado Springs, was arrested at 1:30 a.m. Sunday in Aspen and charged with driving under the influence and second-degree aggravated motor vehicle theft, according to Aspen Police Department Sgt. Mike Tracey.

Littlejohn allegedly failed to stop for a stop sign at Cooper and Hunter and one at Hunter and Durant, causing officers to pull him over.

Arresting officers said Littlejohn was obviously intoxicated and having trouble driving the motorcycle, Tracey said.

After a search indicated the motorcycle, a helmet and a pair of goggles did not belong to Littlejohn, the owner was contacted. The owner reportedly had not even noticed the motorcycle was gone, as it had been parked at her business.

Littlejohn refused to perform roadside maneuvers or submit to a blood or breath test, according to Tracey.

Littlejohn had already bonded out of jail on a $2,500 bond.
