Drop off your old electronics " for free

Don’t know what to do with your old electronic equipment?

City Hall’s environmental health department is hosting the second annual electronic waste recycling collection event for Aspen businesses and residents.

Aspen residents may bring electronic items to the parking lot located at the corner of Mill Street and Rio Grande Place on Saturday, May 10, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. for free electronic recycling.

Electronics accepted include televisions, stereos, computers and monitors, cell phones, printers, fax machines and most small things that can be plugged in. Visit http://www.aspenpitkin.com/depts/44 or call the environmental health department at 920-5039 for more information.

Businesses can recycle their electronics on Friday, May 9, for a fee. Recycling experts will come directly to local businesses and collect electronic items Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Businesses should contact Guaranteed Recycling Experts at 303-667-8555 by Thursday, May 8, to schedule a pickup.

Business rates are as follows:

Televisions: $10-25

DVD/VCR /stereo equipment: $5 per unit

Monitors: $8

Computers: $3

Keyboard/mouse set: $2

Printers/fax machines: $5

Notebook computers: $5
