Drop off your drugs

ASPEN – The city of Aspen will sponsor a “drug take-back day” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Pitkin County Courthouse.

The event is free, and items may be dropped off anonymously. Police will accept tablets, capsules and all other solid medications. They won’t accept solutions, injectable drugs, syringes or aerosols.

Call 970-920-5040 to schedule an early drop-off.

Other drop-off locations are the Basalt Police Department and Church at Redstone, also from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday

Turning in unwanted prescription drugs helps keep rivers clean by ensuring they are disposed of in an environmentally sensitive way, according to the city.
