Downright pathetic

Dear Editor:

In case any Aspen Skiing Co. executives are still puzzled as to why a huge percentage of locals think they’re complete assholes, I’d like to direct them to an Aspen Times article of Jan. 6, “Sheridan’s song sounds off-key to Skico.”

Apparently a Skico exec, who at this writing chooses to remain anonymous and hide behind Skico spokesman Jeff Hanle, the other day elected to totally recast the notion of “petty power trip” and have popular local troubadour Dan Sheridan fired from his gig at Sneaky’s Tavern, for singing a song that the weasel executive thought might offend a certain class of tourist.

Back in the old days, the fun-filled tar and feathering that would follow an article of this nature would have been occasion to bring the community together for a few laughs, and perhaps a couple more songs from Sheridan.

Now it’s just pathetic.
