Down the drain

Dear Editor:

I read recently that the historic Emma store restoration has been completed. Three million dollars later – wow, is that a massive sum for a building that apparently has no long-term plan as to how to recoup that money. I read that the majority of the money came from the Open Space fund; surely there could have been a more valuable and worthy space for that sum of money.

I am all for historic preservation, but the $3 million price tag is a gross misuse of funds. Seriously, this kind of stuff has got to stop.
