Douglas John Valley

Douglas John Valley, an Aspenite of 32 years, died on Friday, Dec. 13.

He will be greatly missed by his many friends and family. Doug was born in Prairie Duchien, Wis., on June 15, 1959, and moved to Aspen in 1970.

Doug was an outstanding athlete whose credits include MVP and co-captain of the Aspen High School football team and Babe Ruth All American honors in high school baseball.

He went on to attend Western State College in Gunnison. After moving back to Aspen, he made a career as a ski instructor and a painting contractor.

His smile will be missed and hugs will be remembered. His father, Harold (Jake) Valley, precedes him in death. Survivors include his mother, Joanne Valley, sisters Lisa Moeller Valley, Mia Valley and Nick Valley, and a large extended family in Wisconsin.

Services will be at the Aspen Chapel on Dec. 27 at 3 p.m. with a reception following.
