Double standard?
Dear Editor:
Councilman Derek Johnson claims that he would “go ballistic” if his 11-year-old son came home with a $5 ticket for riding his bike on the sidewalk despite the fact that it is against the law and most Aspenites polled regarded the act as “a safety problem” (Aspen Daily News, April 24).
I wonder what the councilman would do if his wife brought home a $100 ticket for letting her dog off the leash in the Meadows (Aspen Daily News, April 20). Or should we suspect that we are dealing with double standards here?
