Double standard

Dear Editor:

This week The Aspen Times labels Auden Schendler as one of Aspen’s leading environmentalists (I think he might have a lawsuit for libel) and Wednesday’s Aspen Times says his employer is building more trails at Elk Camp that, according to the Colorado Division of Wildlife (what do they know?), will disturb the Avalanche Creek elk herd. What is Schendler’s position on this?

Why isn’t he on the front page? I’ll help him with an analogy: It’s because Mr. Burns (Aspen Skiing Co.) told Smithers (you) to be quiet, Eeexxxxcelent Smiiithers … I’d think the executive director of sustainability would have something to say about accelerating the decline of the elk herd on Skico’s mountains, but nothing? Sounds like just another case of Schendler’s hypocrisy to me.
