Don’t trust Dr. Minot’s analysis of Bush

Dear Editor:In his letter published Friday, April 27, Mr. Jan Girardot cites psychiatrist Dr. Paul Minot’s brutal psychoanalysis of President George W. Bush. In closing he asks, “How can we deal with this problem?”My answer would be to quit believing everything a psychiatrist publishes when it is evident he has never actually interviewed the patient, has selected random criteria and has ignored the fundamental intelligence of the person analyzed. It is evident Dr. Minot is only practicing his profession, possibly on an intern level, or is politically motivated in his writings.Yes, much has been printed and aired about President Bush’s malapropisms. This is not a sign of a lack of intelligence. One does not accomplish academic excellence, as President Bush has, without a high degree of smarts. How to deal with this problem? As you read, think about the author’s possible bias and whether the article is slanted to fit that bias.Jack E. BlankenshipBattlement Mesa
