Don’t trash it

Dear Editor:I would like to make a very good suggestion in honor of Earth Day. I would like to share with you my feelings about recycling. Some people in our community are not being good about recycling. Yes, it may cost a little more each month to separate your trash and have it picked up. But separating your trash will make it so our landfill will last longer.Everybody in our valley should really think about all the comingle (glass and plastic) all the newspaper and all the boxes getting put in the trash. On Friday when my class went to the recycling center we found out that there were so many things that could be recycled in the trash and so many things that could be thrown away in the recycling. One more thing I should tell you is that in the next 10 to 20 years there could be a smelly old dump in many people’s backyard! You don’t want that to happen, do you?Carlyn LangleyGrade 4, Aspen Elementary SchoolAspen
