Don’t cripple the schools
Dear Editor:
As a parent of two children, ages 8 and 6, I’m writing to ask you to vote NO on Amendments 60, 61 and Proposition 101 this November.
These amendments will hurt jobs, cause overcrowding of schools and destroy our town’s ability to build or repair our roads and bridges. These amendments and propsition particularly target schools, cutting $19 million in funds to our school district. They cut revenue from car registrations. That revenue funds schools. Property taxes that fund schools would drop 50 percent.
As parents and community members, why choose to undercut our future by crippling our public schools? Vote no on 60, 61 and 101,
Tara Haas
