Don’t believe the ostrich
Dear Editor:Come on, you are pulling our leg? There couldn’t be anyone in today’s world with the ostrich head of your letter-writer Tom Anderson (“Bogus global warming,” Soapbox, July 16).If he is for real, it is a pretty sad commentary on we as a people that there would be those among us who would defy all scientific evidence to further whatever their personal agenda at the cost of more rational and caring individuals and the future of the world.Even given Mr. Anderson’s position that global warming could be an overrated crisis and not influenced significantly by the works of man, what harm could be done by addressing the problem as best we can rather than hide our heads in the sand and simply let it happen?Everett PeirceAspen
