Don’t believe the hype

Dear Editor:The proposed Aspen Club development reduces the club’s facilities and destroys the natural environment that surrounds it. It is more than three times the size of Prince Bandar’s. It is 15 times the size of the Hotel Lenado. The added traffic will be in through town and out through town. It is likely that the entire length of Ute Avenue will have to be torn up to run a sewer and other utilities to it.The developers are trying to sell timeshares to the very wealthy. That is what this is about. To sell real estate is why the Aspen Club was invented 30 years ago.The developers are predators. They have waited for an extremely weak Planning & Zoning Commission. They have timed this so that at least two officials (Chris Bendon and Torre) have had to recuse themselves from adding their input. The developers are using words like “LEEDS,” “green,” “holistic,” and “sustainable.” What they mean is: “bulldozer.”Tim MurrayAspen
