Donald Horton

Donald Horton was born and raised in Wisconsin. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin where he was a varsity swimmer. He served in the Navy during WWII. Don and his wife Ruth moved to Aspen in the 1960s and owned Maroon Creek Lodge at the Highlands. Don was a ski instructor at Highlands for 23 years. In 2002, they moved to River Valley Ranch where they enjoyed golf. Don is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ruth, and brother Jim, who resides in Wisconsin. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
