Donald Craig Jacobson

Donald Craig Jacobson was born Sept. 23, 1954 in Fort. Riley, Kansas. Craig grew up in Minneapolis, Minn. and graduated from Minneapolis Vocational High School where he studied to be a jeweler. He worked at Jewelmont in Minneapolis. He moved to Aspen for the winter in 1979 for the love of skiing and fell in love with the town.

Craig worked at Alpine Jewelers repairing jewelry. He then opened his store, The Jewelry Doctor. Most recently he worked at Aspen City Market. Craig passed away in his home in Woody Creek the morning of Sunday June 3, 2012 of natural causes.

Craig enjoyed softball, biking, music, skiing and mountain biking. He loved animals and being outdoors.

Craig was the beloved son of Donald “Jake” and Jean Jacobson of Battlement Mesa and brother of Richard of Minnesota. Craig is also survived by his special friends Darrell and Marcie Mason, Kurt Bresnitz, momma Marie Timms, Diane Welter and Steve Spangler.

Please join us for a celebration for Craig’s life Friday June 8, 2012 at the Aspen Eagles 700 E. Bleeker at 3 p.m. Please bring any photos you have of Craig.
