Don Caswell Wisdom

Don Wisdom was born and raised in Colorado. He was a part of the Roaring Fork community for more than 50 years. Loyal and generous, he was a dear friend and loved one to many family and friends.

Don was a veteran of the armed forces and graduated from the University of Alaska in Fairbanks; he had a career in construction.

Don enjoyed skiing and served on the ski patrol in Canada. He enjoyed writing, wood working, riding his Harley, listening to music and spending time with his friends and family. He was a devoted father and grandfather.

Don donated to many causes, including the Disabled Veterans National Foundation and the National Wildlife Foundation. He was affiliated with the American Legion in Carbondale, Colo.

Don is survived by his children: Rachel and Jeff Vidal; granddaughter, Olivia Vidal of Fort Collins, Colo.; and siblings Paul and Jane Wisdom of Loveland, Colo., and Barbara and Barry Hicks of Mancos, Colo.

A memorial for friends and family is being planned for spring 2012. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Disabled Veterans National Foundation and the National Wildlife Foundation in Don Wisdom’s memory.
