Doctor will be missed
The Roaring Fork Valley medical community has lost a beloved friend and a significant supporter of quality medical care in our valley.
Dr. Steven R. Mostow, director and Associate Dean for Outreach and Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, was tragically taken from us in an airplane accident a few days ago.
Dr. Mostow was a frequent speaker at both Valley View Hospital and Aspen Valley Hospital on the topics of infectious disease. He most recently lectured at Aspen Valley Hospital on the subject of bioterrorism and the need for our country to return to a vaccination program to protect its citizens from bioterrorism.
His self-sacrificing attitude in always being available to us for consultative services in the area of infectious disease will be sorely missed. He was a wonderful individual, warm, gregarious, friendly, as well as a doctor’s doctor and highly respected in his field of infectious disease.
On behalf of the medical community and those of our valley who have benefited by his expertise, I wish to extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Dr. Steven R. Mostow.

Aspen’s dirty downtown alleys are enough of a blight that the city government is taking the initiative to clean them up this week.
