Dissenting voices crucial
Dear Editor:
Last week, Garfield County Commissioner John Martin introduced a resolution that would force county commissioners with differing opinions to represent only the majority view of the commission. (Glenwood Springs Post Independent, Jan. 27.)
Hopefully, there are always dissenting voices to keep clarity and honesty at the forefront of any discussion. To pretext any meeting with implied unanimity where there is not is falsely representing your constituency.
Thank you, Mike Sampson and Tresi Houpt for recognizing Commissioner Martin’s potentially grievous mistake.
