Dissed in Aspen

Dear Editor:

I recently had dinner at Ute City Grill with five friends. We had a good meal with wine and dessert. Within 10 minutes of paying the bill we were asked by the maitre d’ to vacate our table so they could seat another group. We were so stunned we got up and left. After spending hundreds of dollars we were promptly ushered out the door!

I went back in and said something to Walt, but got no apology – only some BS about it being a difficult situation.

In all my 35 years living in Aspen and eating in most of the restaurants here, I’ve never experienced anything close to that. It’s especially sad when I remember so many good times in that same location with Nick and LaCo.

Needless to say, I won’t be back.
