Disappointing commentary

Dear Editor:Ted Rall’s recent column (Aspen Times, June 15) about Ronald Reagan was disappointing.Mr. Rall’s one-sided, vicious attack on former President Reagan was the least objective, most mean-spirited commentary I have ever read. There is an old aphorism that “no one is as good or bad as people make them out to be.” That is true of Ronald Reagan, all of the presidents that proceeded and succeeded him, Mr. Rall, and each of us. Ironically, Rall preaches love for his fellow citizens, but the ugly words that flow from his pen reflect the opposite. Liberal thought deserves a more articulate spokesperson. The divisive Ted Ralls of the left (like the obnoxious Rush Limbaughs of the right) do nothing to promote a common vision for America that will bring our citizens together.Jerry BovinoAspen
