Delta expands winter service in Aspen

Staff report

Delta Air Lines is expanding its service to Aspen for the upcoming ski season.

The Atlanta-based carrier is adding nonstop flights from both Los Angeles and Salt Lake City starting Dec. 17. It also will resume its flights from Atlanta and Minneapolis-St. Paul. The Minneapolis flight will be offered through Jan. 1. The other flights will run through March 26.

All flights will be operated through a Delta agreement with SkyWest Airlines using 70-seat CRJ-700 jets.

“This expansion by Delta will open numerous new connections for locals and visitors alike that may not have been available in the past,” said John Kinney, director of Aspen-Pitkin County Airport, which made the announcement Friday.
