Decide for yourself

Dear Editor:

I was one of the participants in the debate last Wednesday on the Lift 1A project. Indeed I was the last speaker, which required a good deal of sitzfleisch to last the five hours or more. It was an impassionate debate but everyone behaved courteously and the council members with admirable restraint and attention.

Although I opposed the project in its present form I am pleased with the outcome ” a community ballot. I urge people to walk the site, especially once visual aids are erected so you can get a real understanding of its massive nature. Compare it to other buildings. You will be amazed.
