ASPEN – The skier who died Monday on Aspen Mountain was David Coe, 58, of Australia, the Pitkin County Coroner’s Office said Tuesday.

The cause of death was arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease, and the manner of death was natural, the coroner said.

According to published reports, Coe was one of Australia’s most famous businessmen. He was the former chairman of Allco Finance Group, which shuttered in 2008.

“David was a dear friend and one of the most generous people I have met,” Museum of Contemporary Art chairman Simon Mordant told The Australian.

The newspaper reported that Coe is survived by his wife, Michelle, and their three sons, Christopher, Robert and Matthew.
