David vs. Goliath
We all enjoy a David vs. Goliath story, especially when David is on our side. So the tanks of the Aspen Skiing Co. and Intrawest Corporation, and the seemingly co-opted recent Snowmass town officials, rumble toward stuffing that already botch-planned valley with an unreasonable urban overlay ” held back primarily by a few heroes like Jack Hatfield.
Few of us can appreciate the sometimes subtle, and sometimes very ugly, pressures generated against Jack and his friends, but several-hundred-million dollars is a clue.
We all need to shake the hands of Jack and his stalwart neighbors and thank them for their continuing courage. They deserve our support.
