David Troy

Longtime valley resident and musician David Troy died Sunday in Livingston, Mont. He was 51.

A friend of David’s said he died of a staph infection and related kidney problems.

David lived and entertained throughout the valley for more than 20 years in the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s.

He had been living in Montana since the mid-1990s.

“David was the consummate musician,” friend Susan Phillips wrote in a brief obituary. “He will be sorely missed by his multitude of friends.”

No formal memorial is planned for David.
