David Ross Grant

David Ross Grant died Dec. 29 following a long bout with cancer. He was 56.Born Dec. 1, 1947, in Seattle, Grant spent the first three months of his life going to work with his mother, Dorothy. As he grew up, he spent nights sleeping in her office and rummaging in her desk drawers at the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad in Denver.Dave held many jobs around the area, but spent the past 16 years selling and maintaining business and individual computer systems throughout the valley.In his leisure hours, Dave was a league bowler and pool shark. He also enjoyed playing golf.He is survived by his wife, Judith Grant, of Basalt; daughter Deidre Boineau and son-in-law Bill Boineau of Snowmass Village; daughter Deanna Conte of Huntington Beach, Calif.; son Philip Conte of Lakewood, Calif.; and aunt Betty Jean McGavran of Costa Mesa, Calif.The family expresses thanks for the care and comfort given Dave at the hospice run by Aspen Valley Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be sent to Aspen Cancer Guide, c/o Aspen Medical Foundation, P.O. Box 1639, Aspen, CO 81612.A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Aspen Chapel on Castle Creek Road. A gathering to celebrate Daves life will be held immediately following the service at El JeBowl in El Jebel.For more information call 923-4029.
