Danny Hanifen
Aspen, CO Colorado

Danny Hanifen passed away at Aspen Valley Hospital on Friday, March 18, after a year-long battle with acute leukemia.
Danny was the ultimate cowboy, having spent all of his life in Colorado. He was a ranch hand for the Cheney family in the Roaring Fork Valley for nine years and was most comfortable out on the range with the horses.
Danny was a fixture in our town, happiest in the great outdoors or cuddled up in his Jeep at Clark’s Market parking lot. He was the true handyman. Whether it was painting, shoveling, remodeling, landscaping or helping people move, he was ready to lend a hand.
The past year many people rallied around helping Danny through his rough times.
Craig at Mountain Chalet provided affordable housing and breakfast; at AVH, Nancee, Siobhan and Dr. Rivera gave him incredible treatment and kindness to make his life more comfortable.
In his final hours, there were people that cared about Danny at his bedside, as well as Steve and Dan from Crossroads church offering their prayers.
Since no memorial is planned, reach out in kindness to someone in need in Danny’s memory. You can be sure he is already busy helping others in Heaven.
