Damian Marley headlines one X Games concert

Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley will be among the headliners of the X Games concert series at Wagner Park, X Games organizer ESPN has announced. Marley, the youngest son of reggae legend Bob Marley, will perform the free concert the evening of Jan. 28.Marley is in the spotlight with his album “Welcome to Jamrock,” released last year. The album has been nominated for a pair of Grammy Awards, in the categories of best reggae album and best urban/alternative performance. “Welcome to Jamrock,” on the strength of the title track, entered the Billboard album charts at No. 7, the highest debut ever for a reggae album. “Welcome to Jamrock,” co-produced by Marley’s half-brother Stephen, features contributions from Nas, Bobby Brown and Eek-a-Mouse.Marley made two trips to Aspen in 2005, playing a total of four concerts on a bill with Stephen.ESPN will also present a free concert in Wagner Park on Jan. 27, with an act still to be announced.
