Cut the lodge project back
Dear Editor:I want to applaud council members Torre and DeVilbiss for standing up to the ridiculously large proposal for the Lodge at Aspen Mountain. At 175,000 square feet it will be immense. The project has double the floor area that the code will allow for the lot size. Those codes were put in place for a reason, so we won’t overbuild the town, which is already bursting at the seams.Send these money-grubbing developers back to the drawing table again and have them cut half the size of the project. Aspen is losing all its cool, funky old neighborhoods to big development. Let’s not be the next Vail, but keep Aspen special.Just say no!Gray RingsbyHaiku, Hawaii
