Curry: I’ll do my best

Dear Editor:I am writing to say thank you to the people of House District 61 for electing me as your next representative! I know that I have big shoes to fill, and I greatly appreciate your willingness to support my race and send me to Denver on your behalf. I intend to approach the job in a way that puts the welfare of the district first, and I think the best way to do that will be to build coalitions and work directly with other legislators in both parties to promote the interests of our region.I would appreciate hearing from you on the issues that you are concerned about. And, I plan to stay in touch with people throughout the district. My e-mail address is kathleencurry@montrose.net – or you can call me at 970-209-5537. I have great hope that the General Assembly will move forward on the budget/TABOR/Amendment 23 issue and will do all that I can to help find a solution to this problem. I will also follow through on my campaign promises to seek better protections for basins of origin and address the imbalances that have created problems in areas experiencing intensive natural gas production.I want to close by saying how much I appreciate the fact that this was a positive election experience. Thank you to Becky Rippy and Dale Reed for making it that way.Again, I appreciate your support and faith in me! I will do my best.Kathleen CurryGunnison
