Cunningham, Rioux married
Abigail MacIntosh Cunningham and Yannick Bernard Rioux were married at the top of Buttermilk Mountain on Sept. 18.
The bride was born in Aspen, attended Aspen High School, received a Bachelor of Science degree from Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, Calif., and an MBA from the Cornell School of Hotel Administration in Ithaca, N.Y. She is front desk manager at the Residences at Little Nell.
The groom, a native of Quebec City, Canada, was brought to Aspen from the Whistler Blackcomb Ski Resort, B.C., Canada, by the Aspen Skiing Company. He is the terrain park grooming supervisor for the Aspen Skiing Company.
The bride’s mother is Pamela Cunningham, recently retired as general manager of the Aspen Alps. The bride’s father, Timothy Cunningham, was a member of the first Snowmass Mountain Ski Patrol. The groom’s family and friends from Quebec City and Vancouver were in attendance, visiting the Aspen area for the first time.
Uncles of the bride and groom celebrated the marriage in English and French. Scottish bagpipes played a tribute to family and friends unable to be present. A mountaintop reception in the Scottish tradition was followed by a French fete at the Inn at Aspen.
