Crunch those numbers

Dear Editor:

I sure hope the Aspen City Council at least revisited Bill Poss and their estimate for architectural services for Burlingame before making the final decision to go with OZ. At least, give our local architect a chance to “sharpen their pencils” to keep the work in town.

Chances may be, hiring an out of valley firm will likely be the start of the entire Burlingame’s project general contracting, subcontracting and vendors to be selected out of the valley – at a time when our local companies need work.

I can’t see how a firm, four hours driving away, can be less than local architects. I hope the Aspen City Council looks hard at OZ’s numbers to make sure they can work. Make sure there is plenty of money in for delays in travel due to weather, rescheduling time sensitive site visits.
