Crown Mountain Park election is Tuesday
Crown Mountain Park and Recreation District will hold an election for two positions on its board of directors Tuesday.
Residents of the district can cast their ballots between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the Eagle County office building and community center adjacent to the park.
Four people are running for two at-large seats. This election brought the improbable situation of two candidates with the name Robert Hubbell. They aren’t related. Board president Robert O. Hubbell has served on the board for four years and is seeking re-election.
Bob C. Hubbell is a longtime valley resident who is seeking a seat. His name will appear at Bob Hubbell rather than Robert on the ballot.
Bonnie Scott and Rod Woelfle are also running.

Basalt mayoral candidates Bill Kane and Rob Leavitt said at a Feb. 10 forum they endorsed the town government’s $1.34 million expenditure to expand a riverfront park. Candidate and councilman Bill Infante said not so fast and provided an alternative view.
