Crested Butte, Okemo resorts sold

LUDLOW, Vt. ” A Florida company has bought the Okemo Mountain Resort in Vermont and Crested Butte Mountain Resort in Colorado, but the previous owners will continue to manage them.

CNL Properties of Orlando, Fla., announced the purchase from Triple Peaks LLC on Friday.

Okemo spokeswoman Bonnie MacPherson says the $132 million sale is a leaseback agreement so that operationally nothing will change.

Triple Peaks, owned by Tim and Diane Mueller, also leases and operates Mount Sunapee in New Hampshire.

CNL already owns the Sunday River and Sugarloaf ski resorts in Maine, and Bretton Woods and Loon Mountain resorts in New Hampshire.

The Muellers had owned Okemo for 26 years.
