Cop blotter: Scuffle at Syzygy

ASPEN ” Two men, Gustavo Rebello, 24, and Caio Focaccia, 22, were “verbally disruptive” when Aspen police officers directed them to leave Syzygy restaurant at closing time. The pair shouted “Why, are you going to arrest us?” and continued to swear, according to the report.

Robello got within inches of Sgt. Rob Fabrocini’s face and said, “You cannot arrest me, I pay you to do your job,” according to the report.



After repeated pleas to leave, Fabrocini took hold of Robello’s arm and told him he was under arrest. Robello allegedly pulled away from the Aspen officer with the help of Focaccia. Aspen officers then placed the men under arrest. The two men were taken to the Pitkin County jail and issued a municipal summons for trespass and resisting and interfering with an officer.

Deputy Dustin Gray arrested Jorge Alberto Calix-Blanco for driving with a license under restraint. Gray stopped Calix-Blanco for allegedly driving 70 mph near mile marker 33 on Highway 82, according to the report. A background check showed Calix-Blanco’s license was revoked for driving under the influence. Gray transported Calix-Blanco to the Pitkin County jail.
