Congressman’s apres visit a success
The Aspen Democracy Initiative would like to thank the many Roaring Fork Valley residents who attended our kickoff apres-ski event with U.S. Congressman Scott Tipton on March 3 at BB’s Kitchen in Aspen. It was an energetic start to the beginning of engaging and informative programming the Aspen Democracy Initiative has under way!
Very special thanks to Tipton (the U.S. representative for the Aspen area) and his wife and staff for their participation and support; to BB’s Kitchen offering happy-hour specials and a place for our community to gather and converse; and to Frieda Wallison, chairwoman of the Pitkin County Republicans, for facilitating Tipton’s visit.
The Aspen Democracy Initiative is a nonpartisan, grassroots local initiative. It aims to engage and empower younger Aspen-area residents to effect positive change in their communities and country through participation in civic issues and the political process. Over the next year, the Aspen Democracy Initiative will be hosting additional meet-and-greets with elected officials as well as a speaker and topic series addressing public-policy issues at the local, statewide and national levels.
Please join us from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on April 7 for apres ski with state Sen. Gail Schwartz at BB’s Kitchen.
