Confused people

Two recent letters show how confused some people are.

First, Kathryn Preston condemns capitalism and calls for a revolution. I guess Preston feels elimination of private property/socialism is a better system.

I would point out to Preston that for over 250 years our system of free enterprise has produced a good life for the vast majority of our citizens who work hard and manage their life in a reasonable fashion. The standard of living produced by our free market economy is the envy of the world.

If Preston wants a revolution it will need to overcome me and millions of Americans who love our country and our system!

Second, Stirling Cooper tells us the covenants of the U.N. are superior to our Constitution and Bill of Rights. I can assure Cooper that the vast majority of Americans don’t agree with that.

Americans live by our Constitution and our laws, not the dreams of the U.N. I got a laugh at Cooper’s list of heroes; Gandhi/socialist; Eleanor Roosevelt/socialist; Mandela/communist; and Jimmy Carter/peanut farmer.

Cooper probably doesn’t think much of my heroes; George Washington, John Adams, Abraham Lincoln, Andrew Carnegie, Winston Churchill, Ronald Reagan and Bill Gates, to name a few.
